TDGS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2009

TDGS held its 1st Open Championship at Wynyard Golf Club on Saturday, 12th September 2009. A total of 25 players entered for the competition:- 23 males & 2 females. The group was split into three groups; 1-14 handicap, 15-28 handicap and ladies group. The day was lucky for us all as it was a hot & bright sunny day. Everyone enjoyed the day from golfers to non-golfers, mixing with others from outside Teesside area, as a total of 49 people attended for the evening meal which followed presentation by Northern Deaf Sport representative, Tony Crompton, who gave a history of Deaf Sport in the Northern area and awarding the trophies to the winners of Gross & Nett in each group.

Handicap Group 15-28: Medal Winner:- Alan Douglass, Nett Winner:- Stephen Foster

Handicap Group Ladies: Medal Winner:- Elizabeth Cannon-Walker, Nett Winner:- Jacqueline Barnes-Jones
