In the other match at Knotty Hill, Cannon-Walker got off to a nervous start against Hugill, it was a case of David v the Goliath. Hugill hitting some excellent iron shots, but Cannon-Walker was producing a battle of the titantic keeping the game in hand to maintain a tight stroke shot between herself and Hugill - by the 17th Hugill had to hope of a miraculous comeback that Cannon-Walker will make some silly mistakes to get his game back on track, but this was not the case as Cannon-Walker kept her rhythm to oversee a shock upset and progress into the next round by winning a marginal 7 stroke. Hugill took his defeat on the chin and said "Handicap stroke gives each player a fair game to possibly win against the big game players - well done to Elizabeth she had a good game on her favourite course".

Two more 1st round matches are to be played - All eyes will be on Teasdale to overcome tournament favourite Gardner - who is a bit of a dark horse player on the TDGS circuit.
